My Hike

My Hike was a pretty good experience. I'm the type of person who likes to travel and venture allot so this was great for me. Since this was my first time hiking i figured it would have been best for me to come dressed comfortably. When we first arrived to in-wood it was cold since we were walking along the Hudson river. We spotted some pretty tress blooming and we also spotted some ravens and geese. There were many long paths leading to different places but the group decided to stay along the water. Here and there some of the kids in the group would walk ahead and everyone else would be way far back left behind still following our trail. I was with the little group of kids that went ahead, and we were just exploring. I was hoping for something out of the ordinary to happen like a bear popping out, that would have been the highlight of the day because i would have ran for my life and made sure I got away. I didn't think I would learn anything going on this hike but surprisingly I did. I had always thought that when trees fall over or get cut off that's it for them, no life; But those tress are actually beneficial to the environment for many of reasons. its beneficial for the animals because they can live in it. its beneficial for the soil because the tree decomposes turning back into soil. I also learned that tress can grow on rocks, who would of known. Most of the tress we saw were cherry tress starting to bloom. We came across poison ivy and we were told not to go close to it and inhale. All in all this was a great experience for me and it was also good exercise. From time to time i wanted to sit down but it was a nice walk, a long one! but a nice one. I strongly encourage others to go out and hike, it doesn't have to be for exercise it can be a family thing as well. Go out have fun and live a strong healthy life.
